A happy Friday and Beatles show pictures

Greetings, readers. It is a gorgeous August … I mean May day. It is sunny, and today’s high will be 85 degrees F. Love it, love it, love it. The only thing that is a small minus in this situation is the fact that if I have my blinds open during work hours, my air conditioning unit is virtually useless. By tonight, however, I’m sure I will be comfy once again.

I’m planning to have a relaxed weekend, not worrying about any upcoming inspections. LOL. This evening I will watch some TV or listen to some music and turn in early. Tomorrow is laundry day, as I finish up the last little bit of the bedroom. Either today or tomorrow is vacuuming day. As you can see, I’m trying to get down to a clean up schedule of some kind. Back in the day of the happy homemakers, women and men wouldn’t think twice about which chore to do on what day to keep their homes clean. With me, I practically have to make a chart and tape it to the fridge. How lame is that?

Sunday afternoon’s plans are going to include a pre-Memorial Day party thrown by one of my good friends here in the apartment building. Scott and his wife Cathy always throw wonderful gatherings.

On to other news, thanks to Rebecca and her many talents, as she was able to figure out how to transfer pictures from my cell phone to the computer. She put some of them on the Performance Pictures page. Also, at the end of this blog entry you will be able to see four or five snapshots of me performing during my Beatles sing along show which took place on May 13th here in Addison Court. I hope you enjoy them and if you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them here or on my Facebook page. I did have other photographs taken and they are beautiful, but I am having problems getting them on my computer. If we are able to figure out how, I will share them with you then.

Lastly, I would like to let all my WordPress readers know that I am starting a vlog on my YouTube channel. I have seen people who have 50,000 subscribers – I have ten. Within the next week or so, I shall provideĀ a link to my channel and anyone who wants to visit me there is more than welcome to do so. Subscribe and give those videos a like; it will help me out.

Well we are going to leave time now for Rebecca to put the pictures in, so I bid you a fantastic weekend, we will see you on Wednesday, and happy reading.

Resolutions for a New Year

Greetings, readers. With 2016 right around the corner, it’s time for me to make a few New Year’s resolutions. At first I had an idea to make this entry a top ten list, but I’m not going to, just in case I can’t come up with 10 resolutions.

Things I want to continue working on: I want to continue to keep my bathroom and kitchen in the apartment in good shape. My friend Cathy is a tremendous help. I need to do more. The living room fluctuates between passable and messy, and currently needs attention. Once I clear off the old, dead chair, I’ll be able to figure out how much room I have in here for new furniture. I will certainly want to keep the new stuff clear and usable. Just think, I’ll be able to have house guests. Another thing I want to continue on is the blog. Rebecca and I are 460 entries strong and I have no plans at this moment to shut it down. It is completely enjoyable and right now is my only means of creativity.

Things I want to begin working on: I’m going to borrow a bulldozer and clean out my bedroom. I’m going to sell my father’s single bed with hopes of putting a double bed in there. I’ve always had that size of mattress, it is what I am used to and what I like. I always feel like I am going to roll off of Pop’s bed, and that is not a good feeling. Also, I want to volunteer or get a part-time job. I do fully understand that if I get a job now, in late December or January, I might not be able to go to camp in August. I don’t know what the procedure is for people with part-time jobs to get time off. Full-timers have to work one year before getting a vacation week.

The biggest thing I want to try to do in the next 6 months and beyond is choose one writing project, either with Rebecca or on my own, and work on it every day. I need to flex those creative muscles and even if the work never gets sold, it is practice. And it will have a purpose. In the last week or so I’ve come up with 2 or 3 great ideas. I always do my best thinking at 2 in the morning when the lights are off. I have jotted down some notes and I’ll be ready to go after the holidays are over.

A very long-term resolution is to make it to September 24th to celebrate the one-year anniversary with my girlfriend, Traci. It has been a long time since I celebrated an anniversary.

If you would like to leave your New Year’s resolutions on my Facebook page or here in the comments section, please do. We’ll compare notes.

There will be a blog entry tomorrow and just like last week Rebecca and I will be off on Friday. So until then, take care, have a great day, and happy reading.

Happy Friday and camp time approacheth

Greetings, readers. I cannot believe that a week from this evening I will be sitting in a Waterville, Maine motel room, getting ready to move into camp the next morning. I made my reservations for the motels and the rental car. That’s done. Even with my camp list made, I must remain alert so as to not forget something that I want to take. My memory issues have caused problems for me in the past. A few years ago, I forgot Mom’s beloved binoculars.

I have an updated list on my computer and will begin to check things off this afternoon. Since I’m sleeping on my recliner these days, I’ve decided to use my bed for the holding place for the things I will take. Clean clothes, of course, will be packed in the suitcase straight away. I don’t want kitty cat Keekee to sleep on my clean T-shirts; which she would do, if given the opportunity. I know for a fact Keekee will mope the second she sees the suitcase come out. Poor baby always does.

Quickly, here is a review of what I have achieved this past year, personally. I am most proud of two things. I promised myself last September that I would go to bed early and get up early. Rebecca kept it to herself, but I know that I have said that to her the previous years after camp and not followed through. This year I actually achieved that goal and feel healthier for it. Secondly, I promised myself that I was going to clean my apartment and keep it that way. Though I still have a little bit of work to do in a corner of the bedroom, I am no longer calling myself a hoarder. The living room is fairly neat, and the kitchen and bathroom are perfect, thanks to the help of Cathy from my building who helps me every other Sunday.

As for this coming year, I vow to do a lot more writing and reading. I plan to take a library book with me to camp to read in the evenings. That is something I’ve never done before. My biggest project is to have my bedroom perfect by next camp. I know I can do it.

While I’m gone, Rebecca will be doing blog entries from the library and taking care of Keekee. Her health and love to kitty cat is greatly appreciated. Also, Rebecca will handle the Wednesday meeting to give my mail to my accountant in case any important bills come in.

So, until after I return from Bear Spring Camps, enjoy Rebecca’s entries, take care and happy reading.
