Joseph M. Kockelmans

Just a little bit more about me. I was born in Pittsburgh, moved to State College in 1968 when I was three. I have a mild case of Cerebral Palsy, with seizures for which I take medicine.

I began writing in my 20s and have loved it ever since. I’ve taken stabs at screenplay writing, play writing, and short stories. I have one play under my belt, titled Kimberly, which had a stage reading at a local theatre about an hour away. Response was positive.

I have published three books with CreateSpace.com (you can see their covers by clicking the Books for Sale tab above or in the sidebar of this entry. If you wish to order a copy, that tab has a working link for each book to Amazon.com. The prices are very reasonable). The first two are life stories from my years of going to Bear Spring Camps in Maine once a year since I was 5 years old. The third book is a collection of my best blog entries from the first year of this blog. I am very proud of these books, titled: Picking Up Where We Left Off: My Bear Spring Camps Stories, Tales from North Bay & Beyond: More Bear Spring Camps Stories, and Greetings, Readers: A Year in the Life of a New Blogger.

I worked with a partner to transform my play Kimberly into a novel titled Four’s a Crowd, which was published June of 2018. It is also available on Amazon.com.

  1. Hi Joe,

I tried the yahoo address, and it was returned. I also have commented a few times, but don’t see them. Perhaps I don’t know where to look. This format is kind of new to me.

At any rate, it would be nice to visit you. Please feel free to write me at the gmail address- caliman338@gmail.com.

    Have a great day!

    Pat S.
